Joan is a close friend of Thomas Sanders and has been seen in many of Thomas's Vines and YouTube videos. Joan identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, and is currently dating Talyn. Joan and Talyn have helped Thomas write the scripts for the Sanders Sides videos, along with the scripts for a few other videos.
